S. Sundar graduated from NID in 1984, specialising in Industrial Design. He founded Tessaract Design, a multidisciplinary design consultancy firm in 1986 with 3 other partners, and was its CEO from 2000. The projects designed by Sundar range from consumer products to shopping centres, and include kitchen appliances, furniture, retail brand interiors, tensile structures, laboratories, shopfit systems, among others. Sundar also co-founded Idiom Design and Consulting, and also Dovetail Furniture and its retail venture the Design Store. He is currently the managing director of Dovetail ( www.dovetail.in ), a dynamic and creative furniture company that is design led. His interests include design thinking and organisational development. Sundar has been an active member of AIDI ( Association of Indian Design Industry) since its inception and is currently its president.
