"Mr. G K Muthukumaar is an Advocate who holds a degree in commerce and another in law. He has more than ten years of experiencein the legal profession. He started his legal career as a Constitutional Law Practitioner before the Madras High Court. He had joined Anand And Anand in 2003 and is presently a Senior Associate of the firm heading the Chennai Branch Office of the firm.
His areas of specialized IP practice include, IP litigation before the Madras High Court and The Intellectual Property Appellate Board pertaining to Trademarks, Patents, Designs, Copyright and Geographical Indications, Trademark prosecut ion before the Trademark Offices, including handling of oppositions and arguing cases during hearings, Copyright prosecution for registration of Copyright before the Copyright Registry. He has successfully handled a number of high profile litigation.
He has extensively handled a wide variety of Geographical Indication registrations in India pertaining to a wide variety of goods viz, agricultural, industrial, handicrafts and foodstuffs of which many are prominent Geographical Indications of the country and is one of the very few experts in the country, in this field.
He is a speaker in various national and international seminars on Intellectual Property Issues. Is visiting faculty to the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai.
