Amit Krishn Gulati studied industrial design at the prestigious National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and is the founding director of Incubis, one of India's leading multi-disciplinary architecture and design firms with a diverse mix of Fortune 500 multinationals, small and medium enterprises as well as start-ups as clients.
Incubis has offices at New Delhi and Bangalore and employs over 50 professionals in Design, Engineering and Architecture.
Some of the internationally well-known groups Incubis has worked with, include, Unilever, GE, Honda, Bridgestone Tyres, Hilton Hotels, Whirlpool, Samsung, BHP Billiton, WPP Advertising Group, Tata Group, Emaar- MGF, Barista-Lavazza, Bharti Wal Mart, Bausch & Lomb, Xerox, Kansai Nerolac Paints, Yum Brands, Baskin Robbins, Mahindra & Mahindra, Essar and several others. Incubis has also worked on design projects with the DRDO, DFID, Bharat Petroleum-NRL, ONGC and the Indian Railways.

As a practitioner of design and entrepreneur over the last 14 years, Amit's experience has been shaped by exploring diverse opportunities for creative professionals in helping organizations achieve their business goals in areas spanning architecture, hospitality, healthcare, new product development, interactive environments, retail spaces, design strategy and corporate identity.
Amit led the team at Incubis in helping the Indian Hotels Company (Taj group) in the creation of a low cost 'smart' hotel. This project was conceived with the management thinker C. K. Prahalad as a mentor in developing a highly disruptive price-value equation. Incubis has helped scale-up this concept at over 15 sites across India within a short span of 4 years and has been responsible for the architecture, interiors and complete engineering of this path-breaking idea.
In addition to the consulting work at Incubis, Amit is actively engaged in design education and has taught at:
- The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee
- The School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi
- The National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad
Amit is also one of the founding investors and design-advisor at, Barista Coffee, India's foremost espresso retailer and at Eye-Q - a chain of affordable eye hospitals targeted towards low-income patients in small towns.
Amit has extensive exposure-to and a deep understanding of the SME sector in India, especially in the categories of Telephony Products, Home Appliances, Construction and Furniture and is passionate about using designintervention to enhance quality, safety, ergonomics and contribute towards sustainable value-creation.
